It was just such a hot summer afternoon, when outside the sun blazed away like a mad furnace, that an unusually dramatic pet sat face to face with its master, pouting in big, sorrowful eyes.
🐶"Hooman, we have to talk. Emergency session. Life and death hanging in the balance!" snarled the dog, thrashing its tail back and forth in operatic caverns.
The owner was shocked in shock with eyes wide with fear. She slammed the receiver on the counter with a clang. "Oh no! What has happened to you?! Are you okay?!!"
🐶 "No, I am NOT okay!" growled the dog. "Can't you SEE me cooking to death? My fur is an oven to me, my paws are burning, and I'm howling in protest. Now. Right now."
Her owner glanced up, shaking his head back and forth. "Oh man, the drama. You'd be better off with an acting career dream or something!"
🐶 "THIS IS NOT FUNNY!" cried the puppy. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to be this cute when I don't want to be a baked potato? I need a break — with grass, fresh air, and NO BATHS!
The owner smiled. "If I told you I'd found the perfect place? A wonderland where you get to go out for a run, say hello to some new fuzzy friends, and sniff happily without me shouting 'No!' all day"
🐶 The dog sat up. "Come on, hooman. Get a move on."

"You're not paying for this!" the owner exclaimed in triumph.
🐶The puppy scowled at a roll. "Anyway, I'm on the rewards list with extra treats."
"Deal," promised the owner to negotiate.
🐶The puppy tore directly for the door barking furiously. "Alright, LET'S GOOO! Shotgun! By which I mean, I'll have my head hanging out the window the whole ride!"
